How we handle your information
TABS Accounting (Pty) Ltd (“TABS”, “we”) respects your privacy and processes personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). This note explains what we collect through this website, why, and what your rights are.
Who is responsible

What we collect
If you use the contact form we receive the details you type in: your name, email address, business name (optional) and your message. If you email or WhatsApp us, we receive whatever you choose to send.
To protect the form from spam, the website briefly keeps a scrambled (hashed) version of your internet address together with the time of your submission. It cannot be read back into your address, and it is deleted automatically within an hour.
This website does not use cookies, advertising trackers or analytics, and it does not load fonts or scripts from other companies.
Why we collect it
- To reply to your enquiry and, if you wish, discuss working together.
- To keep a record of our correspondence with you.
- To keep the website and contact form secure.
We do not use your details for newsletters or marketing unless you ask us to, and we never sell them.
Who sees it
Your message is delivered to the TABS mailbox and is read only by TABS. We rely on our web-hosting and email service providers to store and transmit it, and they process it only on our behalf and subject to appropriate security safeguards. We will share your information with anyone else only if the law requires it, or with your permission.
How long we keep it
If your enquiry does not lead to an engagement, we keep it only for as long as it is useful to respond and follow up, and then delete it. If you become a client, your information is kept in line with our engagement terms and the record-keeping periods that apply to accountants and tax practitioners.
Your rights
You may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you may object to our processing of it. Email us at enquiries@tabsaccounting.co.za and we will respond promptly.
If you believe we have not handled your information properly, you may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
Changes
If we change this note, the new version will be published on this page with an updated date.
